3 Reasons We Need a Bigger iPhone and 3 Reasons We Don’t

Last week, the Wall Street Journal reportable that Apple was performing on larger iPhones. tho' the article was stuffed with qualifiers (“preliminary development”), hedges (“cautioned that Apple’s plans weren’t final”) and obscure sources (“people aware of the situation”), the net marched dutifully to their Twitter accounts and plumbed off on the official (read: whole speculative) news. The agreement was grim. Apple — the stubborn, desperate, slow gadget-maker — was finally, finally coming back to its senses. once years of floundering, here was the dying company’s last probability to save lots of a doomed business line. sadly, the net forgot concerning 2 things: initial, that Apple continues to be doing simply fine. for each one hunk of normal news (ex: iPhone sales growth in U.S. missing “analysts” wild expectations), the corporate has 3 items of nice news (ex: iPad sales, international enlargement, overall revenue). Second, the net forgot that these larger iPhones area unit, as of yet, nothing quite rumors. All we all know is that some folks claimed Apple had been experimenting internally with new iPhone sizes. You know, identical means it had been experimenting with smartwatches and full-sized TVs. And so, lost amid all the chatter is that the real question: we tend to|can we tend to|will we} actually need a much bigger iPhone? Here area unit 3 reasons why we do…and 3 reasons we don’t. three Reasons we'd like a much bigger iPhone one. Apple’s prime rivals have all gone massive Stroll over to your native Best purchase (before it goes bankrupt) and observe the crop of featured smartphones, from HTC to LG, Samsung to Sony. Like that 37-inch Panasonic TV you obtain in 2009, the iPhone can seem puny next to today’s common alternatives. maybe it’s telling that the 4-inch phones not named “iPhone” get thrown in an exceedingly discount bin by the door. perhaps Samsung knew larger was higher once it selected the name “Galaxy.” What if Apple’s gotten screen size all wrong, losing curious customers reluctant to get a smaller device? a much bigger iPhone would answer these queries. 2. History appears to point larger screens area unit higher we tend to assessed over.
